Hair
Removal Laser Candidates-
Do You Qualify?
With today's hair removal laser equipment, almost every
person is a good candidate for laser hair removal. The old
conventional hair removal techniques, such as waxing, shaving,
and plucking, only provide temporary relief from unwanted hair.
The older permanent
hair removal techniques were very time-consuming and
expensive.
Electrolysis was the only long-lasting solution to hair
removal problems, until the introduction of the hair removal
laser in the late 1990's. The standing issue with electrolysis
has always been the lengthy treatment sessions and the very
limited areas that could be treated per session (each hair must
be treated individually).
One of the major benefits of the hair removal
laser is that it can treat a large number of hair
follicles concurrently (at the same time). This results in
a much faster hair removal treatment process and more
permanent results. For example, bikini and facial areas
can be treated in less than one 20 minute session.
Obviously, larger areas, like the back or legs, will take
longer. Another benefit is that the hair removal laser is
non-invasive and can safely and effectively remove
unwanted hair without damaging the sensitive pores and
layers of skin.
With this said, the optimal candidates are those individuals
with dark, coarse hair and light skin. The darker tones of
hair, brown and black, are the easiest to remove by laser, but
other factors can affect the outcome, such as dark or tanned
skin.
But don't let this discourage those of you with lighter
colored hair. In the past, individuals with blonde, red, or
gray (unpigmented) hair have had limited success with the laser
procedure. However, with the new hair removal laser, treatment
can be effectively administered on those same individuals that
would otherwise have been rejected in the past for the laser
treatments. Ongoing advancements in laser technology will
further expand the effectiveness of the hair removal laser for
all candidates.
